At the Ripcord World Tour Concert stop at Harvey’s Amphitheatre in Lake Tahoe, Nevada – country superstar and American Idol judge Keith Urban gave away his guitar to one lucky, deserving fan! What an awesome display of generosity from Keith Urban. This moment was captured by the video team from http://TheDMZone.tv

RIPCORD features a virtual who’s who of creative collaborators for an album that Urban says was his “most exhilarating album to make, both musically and creatively.”

keith_9“This album’s journey began back in January, 2015 and took me to a lot of unexplored people and places.” added Urban. “The end result was the recording and exploring of more songs then I’ve ever done before and carving that down to what I felt constituted RIPCORD.”

For the 13-track album, which has already produced his 19th and 20th No. 1 songs, Urban amassed an eclectic group of Grammy, CMA, ACM Award-winning writers and co-producers, who that have collectively worked with the likes of Adele, Jason Aldean, David Bowie, Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Brett Eldredge, Fun, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Madonna, Daft Punk, Pink and Taylor Swift.

They include new collaborations with Jeff Bhasker, busbee, Greg Wells and Nile Rodgers, as well as those who Urban has worked with before, including Shane McAnally, Ross Cooperman, Dann Huff and Nathan Chapman all of whom worked with Urban on his previous No. 1 album FUSE.

The album is available for digital download, streaming or purchase at major retailers everywhere!

ABOUT KEITH URBAN

2015 has brought new music from four-time Grammy Award winner Keith Urban. “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,” his 19th #1 song, is the first song from what will be his eighth studio album entitled Ripcord. It not only set an historic country radio mark for the highest one-week spin count and point total on Country Aircheck/Mediabase, it extended Urban’s lead as the artist with the most consecutive top 10 songs on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart, a streak that started in August of 2000. His latest, “Break On Me” debuted this past October and was the #1 most added single at country radio.

Keith Urban’s FUSE, released in September of 2013, was his fourth #1 album. It marked the first time that a male Country artist has debuted atop the all-genre charts in the U.S., Canada and Australia. Its first single, “Little Bit of Everything” took the top spot on the Country Singles Chart as did three other songs, “We Were Us” (featuring Miranda Lambert), “Somewhere In My Car” and “Raise ‘Em Up” (featuring Eric Church). In 2001, the Country Music Association honored Urban with its Horizon Award. He was the first Horizon Award winner in history to go on to win the CMA’s Male Vocalist of the Year, a title he’s captured three times, and the coveted Entertainer of the Year. Since then Urban’s career has seen a long list of groundbreaking firsts and accomplishments reserved for the music industry’s elite.

The 2015 CMA Awards brought Urban his fourth win for Vocal Event of the Year (“Raise ‘Em Up featuring Eric Church). It marked the first time in history that any artist has received the award in three consecutive years. Urban also is and will be, the first and only Country artist to have served as an American Idol judge. He’s won a People’s Choice (is also a 2015 nominee) and American Music Award and was been nominated for a Golden Globe. He’s won eleven Academy of Country Music Awards, has had five consecutive platinum or multi-platinum albums and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry. This November (2015) will see the opening of KEITH URBAN SO FAR…a career spanning Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum exhibition.

Urban’s reputation as a premier songwriter, vocalist, musician and virtuoso guitarist has afforded him the opportunity to collaborate with the likes of The Rolling Stones, John Mayer, Steven Tyler, Miranda Lambert, John Mellencamp, Alicia Keys, Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift, Vince Gill and Eric Church.

Urban has long supported numerous charities. His “All For The Hall” benefit concerts for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum© have raised over $2.6 million. He is the first Ambassador of the CMA Foundation, is an advisory board member at the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and is a longtime supporter of The Mr. Holland’s Opus Fund and The Grammy Foundation. In 2013, he introduced his new URBAN™ Guitar Collection via HSN, proceeds of which still go to benefit both the Grammy Foundation and Mr. Holland’s Opus Fund.
